Blueprint Plan

Blueprint is a statewide initiative funded by Caltrans to encourage regionally integrated, comprehensive transportation and land-use planning.

The Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments is completing work on a Blueprint Plan for the Monterey Bay Area Region. The Council of Governments has worked with AMBAG to facilitate Blueprint planning goals of fostering more efficient land use patterns, improving mobility through reducing dependency on single-occupancy vehicles, providing more transportation choices, improving the efficiency of goods movement, and reducing environmental impacts, including air quality.

Throughout 2007, AMBAG completed work on its updated housing, population, and employment forecasts. The updated forecasts will be used as tools to help guide the development of the Blueprint Plan. To view a draft of the Monterey Bat Area Blueprint, click here.

In 2010, AMBAG and the Council of Governments will begin work on a schedule of “visioning workshops” to be held throughout the County, giving residents an opportunity to participate in the development of the Blueprint Plan. Information on workshops and other opportunities for public participation will be available on COG's website.
